Honey Comb SMP Realm

One of the biggest Minecraft Bedrock Edition servers is without a doubt the Hive. The Hive is a mini game server included in the "featured server" list. This means that Hive is partnered with Microsoft and as a result has access to many exclusive features and connections. For instance, the Hive was able to collaborate with SEGA to create the Sonic event where there were many Sonic themed minigames on the server.

Thanks to the extremely high quality of the Hive server, many content creators on platforms such as YouTube and Tiktok have been drawn in to make content on the server. Over the years, many of these YouTubers have gained a large following and some have even become the face of the hive. Hive would encourage their community to make content and award content creators who did by providing them a YouTube rank. This rank would provide YouTubers with unique perks and features such as a larger party size and access to every single cosmetic on the Hive. YouTube rank on the Hive is now a common goal new creators have.

HOW DID HONEYCOMB SMP START?

One of the biggest Hive content creators, ImKings and Rubixle have been becoming friends for some time now. They have made many collaborations over time and they become one of the most popular duos on the Hive server.

In late 2021, they came up with an idea to gather all the Hive content creators regardless of size in terms of internet presence into one survival Minecraft smp. At first this idea seemed too ambitious as many of the Hive content creators preferred playing minigames rather than survival Minecraft. As more and more established creators joined the SMP, the more credible the server became. It was like a domino effect, one creator would join the SMP and then their friends would join right after.

The HoneyComb SMP kept things simple in that there were no crazy mods that would change how the game felt. It was just a regular survival world where the content creators could make houses and even defeat the ender dragon. A significant portion of the Hive community enjoyed the laidback nature of the realm and the positive vibes it bought. 

HONEYCOMB SMP HISTORY:

The HoneyComb SMP is unique in that there was an element of role play included. At certain times, storylines were created between realm members to spice up the realm. Inspired by the Dream SMP, this smp had its own lore and culture that only true fans of the smp members would understand. Some of the most notable events included the instance where the server owner, Rubixle destroyed the spawn of the server with tnt. This resulted in many houses being blown up and unable to be used. Unsurprisingly, this caused major outrage among the server members and those whose homes got destroyed seeked revenge. Rubixle was a wanted server member and everyone wanted to blow up his house. Rubixle went into hiding and was successfully able to avoid server members for a decent amount of time.

Some of the server members were extremely disappointed by this event that they left the HoneyComb SMP entirely. Rubixle received the criticism that blowing up the entire spawn was not necessary for the lore aspect and that there were other ways to make the server more engaging than destroying the hard work of others. Rubixle soon agreed and promised to never pull such a stunt like that again. 

At its peak, the HoneyComb SMP had over 50 active content creators consistently playing on the server and became one of the biggest Minecraft Bedrock Edition servers of all time. HoneyComb SMP had significant big names such as Evident, a Hive trapping YouTuber with over 100,000 YouTube subscribers. IgnacioBlade, a pvp YouTuber best known for his skills in Minecraft pvp and collaborating with other YouTubers such as RKY and Wallibear. FryBry also made frequent appearances on the HoneyComb SMP along with his friends AGR and CaptainSwift. From streams to amazing well edited YouTube videos, a lot of content was made from this one smp server. 

HOW HONEYCOMB SMP ENDED

Unfortunately the saying "all great things come to an end" has proven to be true again. The HoneyComb SMP was flourishing for its first few months but after a while, many server members slowly started making less and less content on the server. The server became bland since all the major events such as fighting the Wither boss and fighting the Ender Dragon boss have already been done. There was nothing new to look forward to or to prepare for. This resulted in content creators moving on from the server as they produced different kinds of content that is not related to the server.

It also doesn't help that school was starting for many of the SMP members. The content creators on this server are rather young and many are still in High School or College. This responsibility made it difficult for once active server members to continue being active since they now have assignments to worry about, tests to study for, etc. Some Honey Comb SMP members even left the content creation scene in order to focus on education and their future career.

The server owners, ImKings and Rubixle took note of this and made the wise decision to end the server entirely and return to it once more content creators had more free time to dedicate to the server. 

HOW TO JOIN HONEYCOMB SMP

With all that said, there is still a chance for you to join this smp server when it makes its grand return. To join this server, you must be a content creator that primarily makes content on the Hive minigames server. While there are no subscriber requirements, you will most likely get a better chance at joining the server if you have a high subscriber count and view count. We recommend that you focus on making engaging and unique content on YouTube to better your chances of gaining a strong fan base. Once you have grown a bit on YouTube, be sure to contact either one of the server owners ImKings or Rubixle and let them know you are interested in joining the HoneyComb SMP when it returns.

While there is no confirmed release date for when the next season of the HoneyComb SMP starts, we can estimate that it will return during the summer time of 2023. Summer time is usually a time where students and young people have a vacation from school or work and in that vacation, young content creators can focus on the server and making content around it.
